TEN THINGS I LOVED ABOUT BEING PREGNANT
1. Matt offered to do all the bathroom cleaning because he didn’t want me to breathe in all the chemicals.
2. He also did most of the laundry when my belly got in the way of carrying the laundry basket back and forth from the laundry room in our complex.
3. I got to feel my baby kicking and squirming inside of me . . . there’s nothing like it!
4. I didn’t feel guilty when I ate just as much or even more than Matt, and I was practically EXPECTED to eat ice cream.
5. I got to park in the pink spots at the mall.
6. It wasn’t bad when the number on the scale got higher and higher by the week.
7. I HAD to buy a few new clothing items to fit my new shape.
8. Everyone offered me their seat.
9. Perfect strangers struck up conversations with me in random places like the elevator or the line at the grocery store.
10. When I asked Jack where “Sister” was, he would lift up my shirt, and pat my tummy. Then he would kiss it.
TEN THINGS I LOVE ABOUT NOT BEING PREGNANT
1. I can sleep in any position I want . . . on my tummy, on my back . . . and I don’t have to prop my belly up with all the pillows in the house.
2. I can stop agonizing over baby names.
3. When Katie gets heavy, I can hand her to someone else.
4. Jack actually fits on my lap again.
5. The numbers on the scale are going DOWN.
6. I can shop at normal clothing stores and in the normal ladies’ sections.
7. I don’t have to worry about how the delivery will go . . . it’s already over!
8. Jack knows that “Sister” is a person, not just Mommy’s growing belly.
9. I can eat Caesar salad dressing and deli meat again.
10. Instead of looking at the alien-looking ultrasound pictures, I can look at the real face of my beautiful daughter.
